This architecture is iconic and modern skyscraper and "represents a new approach to expanding the urban landscape. Offices, residences and public spaces alike are all taken skyward". ("The Shard", 2000). I have chosen this building because i love how it is stand out from other buildings and the concept of this work is awesome and eye-catching. The construction began in March 2009 and finished in July in 2012. This work had a good history how this ideas comes to mind to Renzo Piano and he designed this as a spire-like sculpture emerging from the River Thames. "Taking inspiration from the spires of London churches and the masts of tall ships depicted by the 18th-century Venetian painter Canaletto" ("The Shard", 2000)This building is the tallest building in United Kingdom. "At a height of 309.6 meters with 95 stories."(Jonnes, 2023). This skyscraper build whit white glass which reflect sky surround so the building change the colors and appearance throughout the day.

  1. This is okay as a start - the point of research is that you demonstrate your knowledge by reflecting on the sources you have looked at. So, in Piano's work you could find out more about the structure, the use of materials, it's effect on the surrounding area (have you been there? It is near London Bridge station and totally dominates the area). You mention the 'history of the project - what is it and how did it influence the design? These are the kinds of things you should be considering when looking at the work of another designer.

To say a piece of work is 'awesome' is not critical analysis of your research!
