Sustainability and materials

 Sustainability and materials

In this post i will do research for materials and sustainability for my project. This project focuses on using locally sourced materials, sustainability, and providing students with a unique learning environment that represents the industrial world of Lviv. The project is focused on sustainable development and prioritizes the use of local materials. This helps reduce the environmental impact of transport and also helps support the local economy. The materials will work with tempered and stained glass, and stainless steel.

Tempered glass

Tempered glass is an ordinary glass that has gone through numerous treatments involving chemicals and heat to achieve its strength (Williams, 2020)The building will use tempered glass because it is locally sourced and tempered for durability, safety. It is sustainable because it can be recycled. This will give the building a modern and transparent look.

Stained glass

I will be going to use some colour and artistic  to the design by using local stained glass in the building. This will also working with local shops and glass studios, which will support the local artistic community and bring culture into the fashion design.

Stainless steel

Stainless steel, known for its durability, ability to resist corrosion, and attractive appearance(The Editors of Encyclopaedia Britannica, 2019) Stainless steel is eco-friendly because it uses scrap metal as part of its content, reduces carbon footprint by using electricity for energy, and does not harm the environment when it breaks (Ben, 2021) I will be used as the main material for constructing the buildingfor structureUsing local steel will be ecofriendly.
