Hospital requirement

Departments

In AP2 I create design project for Hospital in New Cromwell. Hospital needs to service 5000 residents. My design of building includes different part/ wings ( see image below) , it will be easier orientate because each wing and floor have different departments. My building has a three flour.

List of thing, which needs to include:


1) Accident and Emergency
2) Parking ( outdoor and indoor. extra one for ambulance or accident and emergency)
3) Helipad ( will be on roof at wings near accident and emergency for convenience)
4) Wheelchair accessible ( will be present at every entrance and exit. there will be elevator to move between floors inside building)
5) Hospice/ palliative care unit
6) Maternity unit
7) Pharmacy


The Accident and Emergency Department will locate in South Wing, because this part of building is the cloesiest to road and have link with main road and public transport. There will be a parking for ambulance and emergency lot to the right of he South Wing.


For Hospice and Palliative care unit i will use whole north wing. The first two floors will be for Palliative care unit . Palliative care is specialized medical care that focuses on providing relief from pain and other symptoms of a serious illness. It also can help you cope with side effects from medical treatments. The availability of palliative care does not depend on whether your condition can be cured. (Palliative care 2023) The third floor for Hospice unit. Hospice care aims to improve the quality of life and wellbeing of adults, children and young people who have a terminal illness or a long term condition that cannot be cured, also known as life-limiting . Maternity unit will be in East wing on the first floor. Easy to access, and comfortable for patients. Also it located near emergency parking for extra cases.


The pharmacy will be in main building, so it will be comfortable to use for patients of each departments and staff. In main building also will be reception. West wing will have main entrance for hospital. So people for not emergency can park their car in parking above building. And one more indoor parking in west wing. On roof of this wing is helipad.
