Final Reflection

 Final Reflection for AP2

When I entered the DMUIC for my foundation programm for Art & Design I was thinking that we could focus on drawings, painting and maybe more history of art or even mathematics. But I didn't think that we will focus on writing, a lot of writing and writing everything: research, how we develop ideas, improving what we do, process and others. I didn’t even connect this with architecture. And at the beginning didn't get why we needed it. But now at the end of term and AP2 after doing this, after seeing my progression, I really see the connection with this. Even now when I look at my older blogs and read them I feel embarrassed about how bad I was at it. And I am pretty sure even in the near future I will think something like that about recent blogs. I know I have a lot of mistakes and sometimes it is really hard for me to fully understand something and write about it. And at the same time learning the style and plan of writing blogs, improving my English language sometimes was very hard but I tried my best. I start delving into art and architecture in general. During my lessons I find out something new about different movements and artists. In this term I was planning to create a design combining nature and urban life. And in some way I did it. But not how I expected at the beginning. For example, using more greenery in my design and creating a lot of green space or oasis in design, I take inspiration from one of the flowers from Connecticut state called Four O'clock. In this project I combine nature and urban life. I made improvement on making research but not as perfect as I wish but although better than was. This helped me with a contextual studying assignment where we were focused on writing analysis of the work of artists.
I also did some improvement in drawings and in using procreate like software for artists. For example if in a previous project i did more colourful and lively drawings, creating background with sky and ground. In this term I created more monochromatic drawings. I didn't have a lot of development sketches in 2d outcome, but I worked more on 3d outcome making prototype from moodboard, making practical outcome from grey foam in model making workshop, and making final outcome in Laser cut workshop using Autocad for creating templates.  I am happy to finish this subject and foundation programme. I learned a lot of new and useful stuff which can be very helpful in my future and in my progression in university as an architect.
